HODGDON, Maine — Hodgdon High School is the place to be this Friday and Saturday for fans of high school basketball as squads from five high schools meet on the hardwood for exhibition play.
Squads from Woodland, Katahdin, Southern Aroostook and Shead will join the host Hodgdon Hawks for abbreviated games. Each contest will feature two, 20-minute halves, with the clock on running time (continuous) except for the final two minutes of each half.
On Friday, the schedule is as follows: Woodland girls vs. Katahdin, 10 a.m.; Katahdin boys vs. Woodland, 11 a.m.; Woodland girls vs. Southern Aroostook, noon; Woodland boys vs Southern Aroostook, 1 p.m.; Shead girls vs. Southern Aroostook, 2 p.m.; Shead boys vs. Southern Aroostook, 3 p.m.; Shead girls vs. Katahdin, 5 p.m.; Hodgdon girls vs. Katahdin, 6 p.m.; and Hodgdon boys vs. Katahdin, 7 p.m.
On Saturday, the schedule is as follows: Hodgdon girls vs. Southern Aroostook, 9 a.m.; Hodgdon boys vs. Southern Aroostook, 10 a.m.; Katahdin girls vs. Southern Aroostook, 11 a.m.; Katahdin boys vs. Southern Aroostook, noon; Hodgdon girls vs. Shead, 1 p.m.; Hodgdon boys vs. Shead, 2 p.m.; Woodland girls vs. Shead, 3 p.m.; Woodland boys vs. Shead, 4 p.m.; Woodland girls vs. Hodgdon, 5 p.m.; and Woodland boys vs. Hodgdon, 6 p.m.
Admission to the event is $5 for each day, and includes 10 games featuring both boys and girls squads. Concessions will also be available throughout the two days.
