Cancer Center open house is Saturday
CARIBOU, Maine — Cary Medical Center, Pines Health Services and the Jefferson Cary Foundation will celebrate an open house for the new Jefferson Cary Cancer Center this Saturday, Dec. 5, 2015 from 9-11:30 a.m.
The event will feature a number of displays. In addition, members of the center’s oncology staff will be available to meet with visitors. The Cary Medical Center ladies auxiliary will host the event and greet visitors. The open house will feature light refreshments. Tours of the center will be offered by clinic staff. An optional tour of the hospital’s Women’s Imaging Center will also be available.
Regen Gallagher, DO, with administrative responsibility for the oncology service at Cary, said she hopes people will take the opportunity to visit the new center and meet staff.
“We are very excited about our new cancer center”, said Gallagher, who is also chief medical officer at Cary. “We believe that the renovations have dramatically improved the patient care environment offering more comforts and convenience. The environment for our staff has also been made more comfortable and offers better work flow.”
The new center features a redesigned chemotherapy treatment area, new patient chairs and allows a window view for patients undergoing treatment. Colors and artwork were chosen to create a warmer, more comforting space.
The new cancer center was completed to address a growing number of patients seeking services at the hospital. Renovations began earlier this year. Patients and staff have just recently begun to utilize the new space.
