To the editor:
This is a note of appreciation for our school bus driver, Brian Beals. These guys are sometimes overlooked but I believe they play a crucial part in our kids’ education. The first school experience in the morning and the last in the afternoon, in a large part, belongs to the drivers.
This came to me as I was watching the bus make its way up my road. So thanks, Brian, here’s to you!
To The Bus Driver
Every time I see the bus
So yellow-trimmed in black
I think of all the times before
How it takes me back.
On given days, I would wait
For the bus to stop outside
The door would open and my grandson
Would step down to my drive.
The bus would wait for awhile
To make sure I was home
Then waving to the driver
Inside he’d wait for “Mom.”
The year all passed way too fast
Now college is the place
But all the memories that I have
Time never will erase.
So these words are for Brian
The driver of that bus
Never early – never late
And never any fuss.
I always felt that he was safe
While riding in your care
To school and back for 12 quick years
And I just had to share.
Thank you!
