Maine Soccer Coaches regional teams announced

The Maine Soccer Coaches’ regional all-star teams have been named, with several players from the local area making it on either the Class B or Class D Northern Maine squad.

    Seniors named to the team were invited to play in the MSC Senior Bowl, which was held Nov. 15, 2015 at Husson University in Bangor.
Making the Class B boys’ team were Michael Hunter of Caribou and Nick Bartlett of Presque Isle. Other selections were Lukas Firestone and Bruce St. Peter, both of Ellsworth; Trevor Hubbard of Erskine Academy, Antonio Ayala, Logan Butera, Nathaniel Church and Tobias Hogfeldt, all of Foxcroft Academy; James Peterson of Hermon, Ryan Bender and John Grubb, both of Mount Desert Island; Andrew King of Oceanside, Kaleb Gifford of Old Town, Michael Oliviera of Waterville and Cody Doughty of Winslow.
Many boys from the region were selected to the Class D team, including Jarrett Beaulier and Alex Lewin, both of Ashland;
Dane Kingsbury of Central Aroostook, Drew Sotomayor of Easton, Chris Giberson and Ryan Player, both of Fort Fairfield; and Noah Caron of Washburn. They are joined by Luke Chandler, Jon Cormier, Dean Grass, Josh Palmeter and Tyler Welch, all of Bangor Christian; Grant Doane, Jarrett Priest and Thomas Spencer, all of Penobscot Valley; and Justin Thompson of Schenck.
Girls on the Class B elite team are Maddie Doucette and Eileen Patton, both of Caribou; and Jillian Flynn, Tori Koch, Madison Michaud and Taylor Williams, all of Presque Isle; along with Alex Allain, Morgan Buck and Brianna Saulter, all of Hermon; Opal Curless and Page Mason, both of MDI; Jillian Brooks, Makenna Brooks and Lauren Hatch, all of Oceanside; and Jordan Jabar and Fotini Shanos, both of Waterville.
Local Class D players on the girls’ team are Mackenzie Carter, Savannah Flint, Caitlin Paradis and Cassidy Pelletier, all of Ashland; Karli Levesque of Central Aroostook, Kayla Giberson and Chelsey Pelkey, both of Fort Fairfield; and Emilia Churchill of Washburn. Others named to the team are Gabby Cyr, Chelsea Daigle and Hannah Nadeau, all of Madawaska; Ryley Buck, Amy Hallett, Sami Ireland and Arianna McKinnon, all of PVHS; and Emma Alley and Kayhla Falone, both of Schenck.
The 41st Maine Soccer Coaches All-Star Banquet will be held Dec. 6, with All-State teams being named along with Coach of the Year and All-New England honorees.
