Vicaire powers Owls past CMCC

Chase Vicaire scored 29 points last Tuesday in Auburn, leading the University of Maine at Presque Isle men’s basketball team to an 80-68 victory over Central Maine Community College.

Nick Lenhard added 16 points and Brandon McGill 11 for the Owls.
The team lost by a point, 62-61, at UM-Augusta Monday to fall to 3-2 on the season. UMPI trailed by nine points with three minutes to play before mounting a comeback that fell just short. The Owls had a chance to win, but Vicaire’s three-point attempt with three seconds left was off the mark. Kim Collins scored 11 points and Vicaire netted 10 to lead UMPI.
The UMPI women are now 0-5 following Monday’s 69-52 loss to UMA. In defeat, the Fort Fairfield duo of Sydney Churchill and Amanda Hotham paced the Owl offense, with Churchill firing in 25 points and Hotham scoring 14 to go along with seven rebounds.
