HOULTON, Maine — “‘Desserts to Diamonds’ is what the Health Services Foundation is calling their newest holiday event to raise funds for a coagulation instrument for Houlton Regional Hospital,” said Elizabeth Dulin, Foundation executive director.
From Dec. 15-22, two winning prizes will be drawn daily for the following 12 items: a carrot cake, pumpkin and chocolate whoopie pies in a big glass jar, one each of two premier design “12 Days of Christmas Bracelet,” a movie night basket, hickory grilling man crate, Christmas hanging basket, Peterboro basket filled with Christmas greenery, a doll cradle with a local quilt/pillow, Peterboro end-of-bed storage basket with soft silver/gray decadent throw, Moissanite 0.95ctw Halo pendant with 18-inch chain and Victorian style white gold.
“We wanted to offer our communities a new fun event that would allow people to have a chance at winning one of the really great items listed above for either themselves or a wonderful Christmas present for someone else,” Dulin said. “We came up with the idea of putting a spin on the ‘12 Days of Christmas’ by drawing two winners per day for six days for 12 winners.”
As is always the case for the Foundation, sponsors have stepped up to support this new event with an anonymous donor, Callnan’s Nursery, Dee Cote/Rae Johnston, Hannaford, Houlton Regional Hospital Internal Medicine Docs, Goodrich Jewelry, Katahdin Valley Health Center, Sadie’s Bakery, and Sylvia McCausland.
Most of the items can be seen at the Foundation office located in Houlton Regional Hospital right behind the main floor Gift Shop.
“We want everyone to feel free to stop by and see these beautiful pieces, or visit us on Facebook at the Health Services Foundation where you will be able to see photos of the items being offered,” Dulin said. “This may even become an annual event for the Foundation, however, we just look forward to what this may do for our efforts to support the hospital’s vital need for the new coagulation instrument.”
There is limited time to purchase tickets. Tickets are only available until 2 p.m. Tuesday, Dec. 15, and cost $10 each. They may be purchased at the Foundation Office or call the office at 521-2503 or visit their website at www.healthservicesfoundation.org.
