Katahdin Trust promotes Peter St. John
to executive vice president, commercial services
HOULTON — Jon J. Prescott, president and CEO at Katahdin Trust Company has announced the promotion of Peter St. John to executive vice president/commercial services. Based out of the bank’s Presque Isle office, St. John leads a team of professionals who, together, deliver a full suite of business banking solutions that champion the success of businesses across the state of Maine.
“Pete St. John has played a vital role as a member of the senior management team at Katahdin Trust and the bank has experienced strong growth under his guidance,” stated Prescott. “His leadership extends from his hometown of Fort Kent all the way down to Scarborough, and he is deeply involved with his team.”
A 35-year professional banker, St. John joined Katahdin Trust in 1995 as vice president and senior commercial lender. In 1999, he was promoted to senior vice president/commercial services.
Prior to joining Katahdin Trust, he served as vice president and relationship manager at Key Bank, where he was named Outstanding Small Business Lender. In addition, he has held various management positions at TD Bank (formerly Peoples Heritage Bank) throughout northern Maine.
ST. John graduated from Fort Kent Community High School, attended the United States Military Academy in West Point, New York and is a graduate of the University of Maine at Orono with a Bachelor’s Degree in Political Science. He is also a graduate of the National Association of Mutual Savings Banks Branch Manager’s School in Fairfield, Connecticut; Maine/New Hampshire School of Savings Banking; and Stonier Graduate School of Banking in Newark, Delaware.
In addition to his professional achievements, St. John has been very active in several civic and community activities and currently serves on the board for The Aroostook Medical Center and Aroostook Aspirations; as member and treasurer of Mountain View Bible Church; and member of the Eastern Maine Healthcare System Nominating Team.
He has previously served as board chairman of the Northern Maine Medical Center, The Aroostook Medical Center, and Fort Kent Rotary Club; Director of Presque Isle Fish and Game Club, Leaders Encouraging Aroostook Development, and Ambulance Service, Inc.; member of Northern Maine Development Commission Economic Council, Northern Maine Regional Airport Advisory Board, Aroostook Emergency Medical Services Executive Board, Fort Kent Town Council; FAME-PMIF Loan Review Board; and has taught classes for the American Institute of Banking.
St. John and his wife Judy reside in Winterville Plantation.
