ORONO, Maine — The Carlisle boys’ swim team received two individual wins each from David Govoni and Austin Scott Friday in a 60-42 victory over the Orono Red Riots Friday at the University of Maine’s Wallace Pool.
Govoni won the 100-yard freestyle in 1 minute and 1.01 seconds and the 100 backstroke in 1:15.85, while Scott took the 200 individual medley in 2:23.88 and the 100 backstroke in 1:08.57.
Leigh Buck took first in the 200 freestyle with a time of 1:12.65 and Nate Gere captured the 100 butterfly in 1:04.2 for Carlisle.
The relay team of Gere, Govoni, Scott and Buck won the 200 medley in 1:56.09 and the 400 freestyle in 3:58.36.
The Carlisle girls fell 10 points short in their competition, falling 63-53 to Orono.
Individually, Kyra Thibeault came through with the win in the 100 butterfly in 1:32.33, while Maddie Wing prevailed in the 500 freestyle in 6:12.36.
The four-person team of Abigail Espling, Elizabeth Deschenes, Wing and Thibeault won the 200 medley relay with a 2:35.69 clocking.
