PRESQUE ISLE, Maine — Leisure Gardens staff and residents pulled together in spirit of the holiday season to give back to the children of the surrounding communities.
Donations of school supplies including pens, pencils, notebooks, rulers and calculators, as well as other needed items including new blanket throws, snack items, gloves and hats poured in leading up to the week of Christmas. All together staff filled 18 backpacks to donate to sixth- to eighth-graders from Presque Isle, Ashland, Easton, Mars Hill, Washburn and Mapleton.
Leisure Gardens staff only encourage that other members of the community would embrace the spirit of the holiday season in order to never forget that giving to others is the true meaning of the holiday.
