Parade experience ruined

    To the editor:
I was very disappointed recently when I brought my family to Presque Isle for dinner and to watch the holiday light parade.

We went to stand by the street so my 7-year-old granddaughter could collect the free gifts that were being handed out. We were told by someone parked on the street that we couldn’t stand there because we were blocking their view. We then moved to the sidewalk to stand. My granddaughter had to run out between the parked cars to try and get treats. We were again approached and told we couldn’t stand on the sidewalk there because we were blocking their view from a vehicle in the parking lot.
This is ridiculous! There shouldn’t be any parking allowed on the street for the parade or certainly shouldn’t be privileged parking with unrestricted viewing.
My family will not be coming again. What should have been a happy experience turned into a horrible one. I am very disappointed.
