CARIBOU — Betty A. (Everett) Fortin passed away peacefully December 18, 2015 in Scarborough, ME. She was born in Caribou February 9, 1946, the daughter of Olive Everett and Elwood Hersey and step father Thomas Everett. She attended Caribou schools.

She married Arthur Fortin Sr. on October 31, 1961. Betty was employed in production at Potato Service Inc. for many years, followed by Reno’s Family Restaurant for many years. She also volunteered at local organizations. Her hobbies included spending time with family and friends, crocheting, playing nintendo, playing bingo, and singing karaoke. She was a lifetime member of the V.F.W. Ladies
Auxiliary 9389 and the American Legion. Betty was predeceased by her loving husband of 50 years Arthur Fortin Sr. in 2012. She is survived by her daughter Betty Jean and husband Ernie Currie of Caribou, her son Arthur Fortin Jr. and companion Kathy Carriero of Caribou, a daughter Lynn Fortin and companion Wayne Smith of Limestone, her beloved 5grandchildren Casey Currie and companion Scott Stevens, Stephanie Currie and companion Andrew Christie, David Smith and companion Brianna Hale, Alicia Fortin. Josh Fortin, her sisters and brother-in-laws Ms. Sue Smart and late husband Kenneth Smart of Salona, PA, Jennifer Rafford and her husband Ronald, brother and sister-in-law George Everett and wife Carol, half brother Bob Hersey and wife Nancy of Woodland. Also several nieces, and nephews. Betty will be greatly missed by all.
A memorial service will be held at the United Baptist Church on High St. in Caribou on January 2 at 11:00 am with Pastor Troy Heald officiating.
