Nason E. Maxwell

     WATERBORO, CT — Mr. Nason E. “Papa” Maxwell, 71, entered into eternal rest, surrounded by his loving family on Sunday, December 13, 2015.  He was the beloved husband of Philomena “Mina” (Ercolani) Maxwell.

Nason E. Maxwell

    Nason was born in Caribou, Maine on January 16, 1944 son of the late Sanger and Blanche (Lagesse) Maxwell.  He proudly served in the U.S. Army in Vietnam and was awarded the Purple Heart by General William Westmoreland.  He was a member of the Teamsters Local 677 for many years.  He was a collector of many things.  His most prized possession was his 1936 red Stewart pick-up truck, which he restored and won many trophies for.

     Papa spent many hours over the last 19 years attending dance recitals, baseball, basketball, soccer, and hockey games, cheering on his grandchildren who were his pride and joy.  Nason will be remembered for the generosity and the love he expressed to his family and friends.

     Besides his wife Mina of 47 years, Nason is survived by his three daughters, Michele Boyer and her husband Stephen of Manchester, Christina Marie Fongemie and her husband Dean of Waterbury, and Jennifer DelCarmine and her husband Joseph of Watertown, his six beloved grandchildren, Megan and Matthew Boyer, Mary Katherine and Benjamin Maxwell Shelton, Briana and Anthony-Joseph DelCarmine, and his special pet “Bella.”  Out of 18 siblings, he is survived by Nancy Kummer, Rita Getchell, Shirley Pelkey, Claudine Olmstead, Marge Woodward, Delmer Maxwell, and many close family members.

     Funeral was held Saturday, 9:00 a.m. at Chase Parkway Memorial/The Albini Family Funeral Home, 430 Chase Parkway to Blessed Sacrament Church for a Mass at 10:00 a.m.  Military honors was held at the Church following the Mass.  Burial was private and at the convenience of the family.  Calling hours was held Friday, 3-7 p.m. at the funeral home.
