Participants will integrate social media into communication plans
The National Disaster Preparedness Training Center (NDPTC) will offer Federal Emergency Management Agency training in Presque Isle and Caribou Jan. 11-13. Planned are classes on using social media for disaster response and on natural disaster awareness for senior caregivers.
In Presque Isle, Social Media for Natural Disaster Response and Recovery (PER-304) will be held at Northern Maine Community College Monday, Jan. 11, and again on Tuesday, Jan. 12, from 9 a.m.-5 p.m.
On Wednesday, Jan. 13, Natural Disaster Awareness for Senior Caregivers will be held at the Northern Maine Development Commission Conference Room in Caribou from 8 a.m.-noon and again from 1-5 p.m.
Participants will learn how to identify, prepare and perform a number of support activities that will ensure the safety and security of senior citizens when a natural hazard event occurs.
