Bartlett comes in first in pair of alpine meets
FORT KENT, Maine — After a late start, the alpine ski season finally got underway Saturday with a meet held at Lonesome Pine Trails.
The host Warriors swept all four races, with Presque Isle following in each one. Caribou, Central Aroostook, Forest Hills, Madawaska and Greenville were other schools taking part.
Individual top-10 results were as follows:
Morning giant slalom girls’ race: 1. Shelby Cowin (Greenville) 1:47.62; 2.Olivia Martin (Fort Kent) 1:53.32; 3. Nicole Gebhart (Central Aroostook) 1:54.64; 4. Alisha Guimiond (Fort Kent) 1:57.33; 5. Julia Richards (Madawaska) 1:58.64; 6. Sylvie Guimond (Fort Kent) 2:00.73; 7. Jordan Tanguay (Fort Kent) 2:01.19; 8. Allysa Sweeney (Presque Isle) 2:02.44; 9. Brianna Cobb (Greenville) 2:06.49; and 10. Natalie Bates (Presque Isle) 2:09.25.
Camryn Langille of Caribou was 13th in 2:12.86 to lead her team.

Scott Bray of Caribou was 24th in 2:06.03.

A Nordic competition was scheduled Tuesday at the Nordic Heritage Center in Presque Isle and the next one is Tuesday, Jan. 12 in Madawaska beginning at 3 p.m. On Saturday, Bigrock Ski Area in Mars Hill will be the host site of the next alpine meet, which begins at 9 a.m.
