The County’s young musicians converge in Ashland this weekend for the two-day All-Aroostook Band Music Festival. The event begins Friday as students arrive for rehearsals, with a concert Saturday.
With clarinets, flutes, saxophones, trumpets, tubas, horns, bass and drums, the All-Aroostook Middle School Band starts off the concert with “March of the Irish Guard”, followed by “Supercalifragilisticexpialidocious”, “Ancient Voices” and “By Dawn’s Early Light”.
The High School Band will perform “Glory and Triumph,” followed by “Simple Gifts Four Shaker Songs”, “Epinicion” and “The New Colonial March”.

From Southern Aroostook Middle School are Wyatt Harthorne (alto saxophone), Abby Stevens (alto sax), Dominick Grant (trombone) and Emily Canavan (percussion).
From Houlton Middle School are Morgan Graham (flute) and Nolan Jacobs (alto sax). From Hodgdon Middle School are Mallory Williams (flute), Olivia Morris (baritone sax), Ethan Carter (baritone sax) and Benjamin Walker (clarinet).
From Hodgdon High School is Brandon Wallace (alto sax). From Houlton High School are Dylan Johnston (tenor sax), Sierra Rhoda (French horn), Connor Grant (trombone) and Victoria Holmes (percussion).
The Saturday event begins at 2 p.m. with the All-Aroostook Middle School performance.
