New Ventures slates career planning class

PRESQUE ISLE — New Ventures Maine will offer a free five-week class in career planning to help participants achieve career goals.

The class will be held on Wednesdays from 9 a.m.-noon at the Presque Isle CareerCenter, 66 Spruce St., for five sessions from Feb. 10 to March 9.
Suzanne Senechal-Jandreau of New Ventures’ Presque Isle office will instruct the class. “This course helps you develop a career plan that meets your needs,” she said. “Whether it’s finding a job you enjoy, looking for a career that better fits with your values and interests, or planning for a future career that helps you meet your financial goals — this workshop series can help you set goals and action steps to move forward.”
Participants will explore their work values and interests, find out where job opportunities will be, identify the skills, education, or training needed to launch a new career, and create a step-by-step plan to achieve their career goals.
Pre-registration is required by Friday, Feb. 5. There is no fee for the training, which is open to individuals of all ages and incomes. Anyone interested in developing a career plan for the future is welcome to attend.
