SUTHERLAND, Michael Robert Kelley, 60, Ashland, December 23, 2015. Michael’s Celebration of Life will be July 16, 2016, 5:30 p.m. at Dean’s Motor Lodge in Portage, ME.
ASHLAND – Michael Robert Kelley Sutherland, 60, died unexpectedly on December 23 at his residence in Ashland.
Michael is survived by his sisters, Lisa Basley and Lynne Sutherland; stepsister, Linda Williams; his children: son, Lee Curtis of Ellsworth, ME, grandchildren, Keaghun and Brianna; daughter, Jannet Christine of Carmel, ME, grandchildren, Kasey, Aspen and Bennett; daughter, Stephanie Lee of Milton Mills, NH, grandchildren, Zachary and Gage; and his son, Travis Michael of Washburn, ME.
He was predeceased by his mother, Loena Boxwell Sutherland; father, Curtis Lee Sutherland of Ashland; his grandmother, Cassie Sutherland; grandfather, Harold; his grandmother, Mabel Boxwell Poitras; grandfather, Albert Boxwell.
Michael was born in Portland, ME, October 16, 1955, to Loena and Joseph Kelley. He graduated from Ashland High, Class of 1974. Michael was the Varsity Basketball Manager from 1971-72. He worked for years in the forestry and scrap metal industry. Michael loved mechanic work from an early age – working on sleds, rebuilding and repairing automobiles. He enjoyed trapping, hunting, fishing as nature was an important part of his life. Michael will be deeply missed.
