The TOPS meeting was held Jan. 8 at the Aldergate Building on Kelleran Street, with two KOPS and 15 TOPS members present.

The loser of the week was Marsha Reed and the runner-up was Betty Wyman. The skinny dish was won by Betty Ivey.

A new contest was started by Diane Folsom and Betty Wyman: “A New Year, A New Beginning,” an incentive to lose weight which will run for four weeks.

A program was presented by Mildred Gagnon on the advantages of eggs. She said many health benefits can come from eating eggs, and discussed different ways to use them, including salads, sandwiches and omelets.

Warning signs of stroke were discussed, such as sudden numbness, confusion, vision changes, dizziness or headache.

The next weekly meeting was held at the Aldergate Building Jan. 15. The loser of the week was Pam Richardson and the runner-up was Marsha.

There were 13 TOPS and 1 KOPS members present. The skinny dish was held over until next week.

The program was given by Denise Clark on the benefits of dancing. Studies on different styles of dance have been done and results show changes for the better in health, disposition and, oh yes, loss of weight. Having fun and losing weight can be a big benefit. So, is everyone ready for a dance step or two? Join us next week.
