HOULTON — The Houlton Police Department responded to the following incidents from Jan. 10-16.

 

Sunday, Jan. 10

 

1:58 a.m. — Cpl. Duff responded to Clover Circle for a welfare check.

5:38 a.m. — Off. York responded to Court Street to investigate a motor vehicle accident.

9:49 a.m. — Off. Bickford responded to North Street to arrest a 25-year-old Houlton female, Nichole Fletcher, for theft by receiving stolen property, and a 25-year-old Houlton male, Kenneth McCrary, for theft by unauthorized taking or transfer.

10:32 a.m. — Off. York responded to Spring Street to arrest a 23-year-old Houlton male, Kerron Armstrong, for domestic violence assault.

11:42 a.m. — Off. Bickford responded to Grange Street for an animal complaint.

2:15 p.m. — Off. Bickford responded to Green Street to investigate reported harassment.

2:54 p.m. — Off. Bickford responded to Pleasant Street to investigate a burglar alarm.

3:00 p.m. — Off. Bickford responded to Maliseet Drive to investigate a 911 hang-up.

6:41 p.m. — Cpl. Duff responded to Green Street for a welfare check.

8:05 p.m. — Cpl. Duff responded to Court Street to investigate suspicious activity.

10:25 p.m. — Cpl. Duff responded to North Street to investigate a burglar alarm.

6:14 p.m. — Off. Smith responded to School Street to investigate a burglar alarm.

8:05 p.m. — Off. Smith responded to Park Street to arrest a 22-year-old Houlton male, Leonard Devoe, on a warrant.

8:16 p.m. — Off. Boutilier responded to Washburn Street to arrest a 55-year-old Houlton female, Karen Shaw, for domestic violence assault.

8:31 p.m. — Off. Smith responded to Mechanic Street to arrest a 27-year-old Houlton male, Robin Witham, for criminal mischief, and a 21-year-old Houlton female, Michaela Gray, for sale and use of drug paraphernalia.

9:15 a.m. — Off. Janakis responded to Foxcroft Road to arrest a 27-year-old Houlton male, Matthew Collett, for violating conditions of release.

HPD Corner

 

With the deep freeze finally setting in, the HPD would like to remind everyone to properly clean their car of ice and snow, taking extra care to clean the windshield to improve visibility.

Also, slow down. In normal conditions, you should maintain a following distance of three seconds between you and another car. On winter roads, increase that to a full 8 to 10 seconds.

Yes, that may mean slow going, but a little patience will keep you a lot safer on the road.
