Caribou Vikings take third in cheering competition

     CARIBOU, Maine — The Presque Isle High School Wildcats recorded 66.8 points to capture the Aroostook League cheering championship Friday night at Caribou High School.

     Houlton finished second in the competition with 63.3 points and was followed by Caribou (59.7), Central Aroostook of Mars Hill (55.9), Fort Fairfield (48.1) and Hodgdon (44.4)

     Members of the victorious Presque Isle team include Madison Bagley, Jessica Boucher, Michelle Cawley, Gabriella Donovan, Miranda Drost, Emma Kohlbacher, Justine LaBier, Lindsey Lagerstrom, Kiara Lyford, Alexandra Michaud, Kellsey Michaud, Ashley Turner and Victoria Williamson. The team is coached by Jenna Bradstreet and Kelsie Spooner.

     Caribou team members are Irene Thibodeau, Johnna Grant, Kirsten Haney, Julia Harris, Heather LaMothe, Kara Madore, Margeaux Beaulieu, Sheridan Blackstone, Makenzie Conroy, Adrieanna Damboise, Mickayla Ellis, Paige Obar, Crissy Corbin, Erin Jandreau, Molly McCrossin, Marisa Michaud and Katie Tardif. Brandi Makepeace-Cote is the coach.

     Central Aroostook, coached by Sami Pryor, has team members Noelle Bailey, Dayna Collins, Elizabeth Gillen, Victoria Brewr, Sheratin Kelly, Sarah Gerritsen, Emilee Durost, Halee Rusby, Chloe Wheeler, Lillian Mahan, Keara McCrum, Michaela Pelletier, Holly O’Leary, Hunter Nicholson, Taia Tilley, Olivia Pelletier and Jillian Tweedie.

     Fort Fairfield’s squad is made up of Meghan Everitt, Makaila Flanagan, Kailanny Hernandez, Stephanie Parady, Alyssa Poitras, Jaydyn Fox, Gracie Griffeth, Julian McKenney, Emily Everett, Dixie Grady and Marissa Greene and is coached by Rachel Emery.

     Presque Isle also received four awards for best dance team as well as best in motions, jumps and stunts. Fort Fairfield took home the spirit award, and Houlton captured best tumbling honors.
