Rotary Club
The Mars Hill Rotary Club met Jan. 19 at the Aroostook Health Center. The special speakers were Sheratin Kelly and Jessica Thomas, who are planning a missions trip this July with a Word of Life International Ministries’ Student Fusion group.
They will leave Maine around July 9 for New York and will spend a few days at an orientation before flying to South Africa and Mozambique, and then returning home July 30. They said that although South Africa is English speaking, there is a unique blend of people and cultures for the group to work with. Kelly and Thomas will be partnering with local churches and missionaries to share the gospel in schools, villages, orphanages and more.
Kelly, a senior, and Thomas, a sophomore, hope to be able to share their love of the Lord while in South Africa through Vacation Bible Schools, camps, dramas, music and more.
They seek prayer support as they raise the funds needed for the trip. They must both raise almost $3,500 to cover their costs for flights, lodging and food. Those who would like to support them can do so through the website www.wol.org/giving.
The girls are also available to do a presentation for churches or groups that would like to learn more about their planned trip. Contact Pastor Mitch Ross at 429-9590 if you would like to hear more from the girls.
