Carlisle swim teams outscored by Broncos

Nate Gere, Maddie Wing, Leigh Buck and Austin Scott score victories

     LIMESTONE, Maine — The Carlisle swimmers were at home for the second consecutive weekend and remain in the region for another home event Saturday, this time at Gentile Hall in Presque Isle.

     Against Hampden at the Limestone Community School pool during the past weekend, the consolidated local team came up short in both the girls and boys meets, but still had some winning individual efforts.

     Victories were recorded by Nate Gere in the 200 free (2:06.65) and the 500 free (5:41.49), Maddie Wing in the 200 I.M. (2:33.8) and the 500 free (6:01.9), Leigh Buck in the 50 free (24.5 seconds) and the 100 free (55.19), Austin Scott in the 100 butterfly (57.69).

     Both 400 freestyle relay teams came in first place. The girls’ team of Abby Raymond, Wing, Abby Espling and Kyra Thibeault won in 4:47.18, while the boys’ foursome of Gere, Scott, David Govoni and Buck had a time of 3:52.83.

     Saturday’s home meet against Foxcroft Academy begins at 1 p.m.
