His Resting Arms sets opening date

ISLAND FALLS, Maine — On Jan. 30, 2016, His Resting Arms will open its doors to people with addiction and/or compulsive behaviors.

This one-year, Christ-centered recovery program for adults is free to the residents; however, they are expected to find a sponsor who can provide travel expenses to and from the facility, as well as monthly financial support for personal care items.

Located in Island Falls, the homes can currently accommodate up to 28 staff and residents, both male and female. Residents will receive room and board, individual and group counseling, and will participate in Bible studies, prayer and worship.

“We recognize this program is not for everyone, but there are many people out there who need help and are ready to give God a try,” said David Tuttle, board president. ‘This is where we can help.”

Tuttle said, “We will teach them about Jesus and it will be up to them whether or not to allow Him to heal them of their struggles or walk with them through their trials. In the meantime, they will find support and encouragement in a community of individuals committed to walking with them on their journey.”

Applications and a promotional video are available online at www.hisrestingarms.org. The program will admit residents on monthly basis; therefore, there may be up to a four-week waiting period.

Resting Arms Ministries has been providing financial support to people pursuing treatment for addiction since 2008.
