STOCKHOLM — John “Johnny” Russell Anderson, 32, passed away January 30, 2016 as a result of a snowmobile accident.

John was born in Caribou, April 1, 1983 the son of Gale and Nancy (Hemberg) Anderson. John was a 2001 graduate of Caribou High School and was active in baseball, basketball and cross-country running. He attended the University of Maine and earned a business degree in 2006. He then worked for the Detroit Tiger Spring Training Camp for one season. He returned to Maine and worked for the Bangor Daily News Circulation Department, first in Bangor and then as the Northern Maine area sales manager. John was known for his gentle nature, love of life, hard work ethic and his especially generous loyalty to family and friends.
John is survived by his father, Gale Anderson, his mother, Nancy Anderson, and her companion David Sterris all of Stockholm, his sister, Jillian Adams and her companion Jonathan Hopkins, his niece, Molly Adams and nephew Coltin Hopkins. He also leaves behind his grandmother, Lorraine Hemberg of Caribou, his aunts and uncles, Susan and Randy Richards and their children Evan, Cole and Kayla, Peggy and Mike Bosse and their children, Adam, Scott and Meg, and his lifelong special friends, Michael Sterris, Jason Gorneault, and Scotty Landeen. He was predeceased by his paternal grandparents, Fernald and Ingrid Anderson and maternal grandfather, Russell Hemberg.
There will be a celebration of his life at a future date and time to be announced in the spring by the Mockler Funeral Home, Caribou.
