HODGDON, Maine — Input from members of the SAD 70 communities is being sought to help the district get a better understanding of where it should be headed in the future.
Several months ago, the SAD 70 board voted to establish a Vision Planning Advisory Committee to work on a strategic plan that will help school officials better determine the future direction of the district.
“The committee comprised of board members, teachers and community members has been meeting since last fall,” said SAD 70 Superintendent Scott Richardson. “To better determine what direction to give to the school board, the vision committee has developed a survey requesting input from all the stakeholders who have a vested interest in the school district. We need our community to help us solve problems and better define how to reach our mission.”
With the assistance of the district’s technology department and Regina McCombs, district librarian, an online survey was developed. This survey is available to anyone who has access to Internet either on the SAD 70 website or on the SAD 70 Facebook page.
Those who do not have computer capabilities and/or Internet access can receive paper copies of the survey available at both Hodgdon High and Millpond schools or the Superintendent’s Office. Anyone who would like a copy mailed should call 532-3015.
“It is the desire of the school board and the Vision Planning Advisory Committee to receive back many surveys from students, staff, parents and community members to get a wide array of feedback from the many people that make up our school community,” Richardson said. “The more surveys completed the better data we will have in order to determine our future direction for the next 5 to 10 years.”
If you have any questions about the Vision Planning Advisory Committee or the survey, feel free to call Richardson at 532-3015. We also need another community member to be part of the Committee so if you are interested, let us know.
