Dr. Seuss’s birthday to be celebrated at library

A special birthday party celebrating Dr. Seuss will be held at the Walter T. A. Hansen Memorial Library on Wednesday, March 2, 2016 beginning at 5:30 p.m. Story time will start at 6 p.m. Plan to stop by for a fun time!

A “buy back” program is being started at the library. Have you bought a great book lately and wonder what to do with it now? Why not donate it to the library and share the story and possibly recoup some of your investment? The program is for specific current hardcover books. For more details, visit the library or our website at wtahansenlibrary.org.

The Great Mars Hill Bank Robbery

Ron Chase, author of “The Great Mars Hill Bank Robbery” will be at the Walter T. A. Hansen Memorial Library for a presentation and book signing on Thursday, March 10 at 6:30 p.m. We hope to have some books available for purchase during this event, but it may be better if you purchase one through Amazon before the event.

The topic of many a conversation from Nov. 12, 1971 until his capture a few months later, this book has introduced Bernard Patterson to an entire new group of town folk that weren’t around at the time. The book is a great read and tells of the planning that took place as well as some of the misadventures following the actual robbery.
