MYERS, Nola Elizabeth (Wallace), 78, FORT FAIRFIELD, February 19, 2016. A celebration of her life will be conducted at 1 p.m., Fri., Feb. 26, at the Funeral Home. Arrangements by Giberson-Dorsey Funeral Home, Fort Fairfield.
FORT FAIRFIELD — Nola Elizabeth (Wallace) Myers, 78, wife of the late Frederick A. Myers, passed away peacefully Friday afternoon, February 19, 2016 at her Fort Fairfield home, following a period of declining health.
She was born April 11, 1937 in Tobique Narrows, New Brunswick, the daughter of Richard and Beulah (Hudson) Wallace. Nola was a 1955 graduate of the Southern Victoria Regional High School, Perth-Andover, New Brunswick, and was married to Frederick A. Myers on April 23, 1966. Nola had been employed as a librarian’s aide with the Charleston, ILL School System, the University of Maine Orono Campus Career Center Library, retiring from the Fort Fairfield High School Library. She will be remembered by many as an “old school” artisan and crafter. Her many creations, including quilts, were truly works of art and her legacy lives on through her work.
In addition to her parents, Nola was predeceased by her husband on January 3, 2000; eight siblings, Dorothy DeMerchant, Verna Baker, Jim Wallace, Freda Young, Glenna MacIntosh, George Wallace, Johnny Wallace and Mary Jane Savoy. She is survived by one son, Palmer J. Myers and his wife Nancy of Hills-
borough, NJ; one daughter, Carrie E. Myers of Fort Fairfield; three grandchildren, Madeline Elizabeth Myers, Katherine Ann Myers and John Wallace “Jack” Myers, all of Hillsborough, NJ; as well as numerous nieces, nephews and extended family members.
Friends may call Friday, February 26, 2016 from 12 to 1 p.m. at the Giberson-Dorsey Funeral Home, 144 Main Street, Fort Fairfield, where a celebration of Nola’s Life will be conducted at 1 p.m. Spring interment will take place at the Larlee Creek Cemetery, Perth-Andover, New Brunswick.
