The County Service Challenge is a new take on community service focused on engaging youth in their communities. Anyone in Aroostook County can nominate a potential service project they think will best benefit and engage their community by completing the nomination form at www.gauvinfund.org/csc-application.
The nomination process is currently open and will close March 11.
The goal of the event is to connect people with service projects throughout The County in need of volunteers.
While the focus of the event is to engage students, the County Service Challenge is described as a great event for all ages. By participating, youth and adults working side by side will demonstrate the importance of volunteerism in Aroostook County and the service projects that directly benefit their local communities.
Once the project nomination is complete, individuals, families, groups and businesses can register for the service day, select the project they’d like to be a part of, and participate in completing the project on May 21.
