Insurance group earns awards

     ORONO — Members from the Insurance Association of Greater Houlton (IAGH) traveled to Orono, Oct. 2 to attend the three-day state meeting of International Association of Insurance Professionals Maine Council.

Members from the Insurance Association of Greater Houlton (IAGH) traveled to Orono to attend the three day state meeting of International Association of Insurance Professionals Maine Council.      Local members in attendance were IAGH President Julie Bradstreet, IAGH vice president; State Awards Co-Chair Dawn Halkyard; IAGH Treasurer Brittany Grass; IAGH Secretary and State Memorial Committee Member Jennifer Perreault; State Membership Chair Stacey Perry; State Awards Co-Chair Mary Jane Cleary; State Audit Committee Chair Brittani Suitter; and State Audit committee members Ginger Campbell, Amanda Dunn, Amanda Schools, Bobbie Jo Matwyko, Cassie Fostun, Jessie Hale and Jaylene McKenney.

     Members participated in an ethics course, business meeting, and awards and scholarship ceremony, as well as served on their prospective committees.

     Both the association and several of its members were recognized for their accomplishments in the industry for the 2015 year. IAGH took home all three awards in the Association category (Most New Members, Membership Group, and the Silver Bowl for Membership Retention).

     Matwyko received a scholarship for $100, while Cleary received a scholarship for $450, and McKenney received the $100 First Timer’s Scholarship. Members being recognized for earning Insurance Designations were: Campbell for Certified Insurance Industry Professional; Cleary for Certified Insurance Industry Professional, and Halkyard for Certified Leadership Professional.

     Grass was awarded the prestigious Client Service Professional of the Year award and Suitter was awarded Rookie of the Year.

 

     The Insurance Association of Greater Houlton is a local Branch of the International Association of Insurance Professionals (IAIP). IAIP serves its members by providing professional education, an environment to build business alliances, and the opportunity to make connections with people of differing career paths and levels of experience within the insurance industry. Monthly meetings are held on the second Tuesday of every month in the Houlton area.
