Way to go, Bears!
To the editor:
As former 20-year residents of The County, still with connecting roots, we would like to congratulate the Easton Bears basketball team for their outstanding performance in winning the Eastern Maine Basketball Championship for their high school.
Their neck-to-neck fight for the Class D Maine Championship was no “gimmie” for the Valley team — they had to earn it. It was anyone’s game — most of the tournament, right up to the last few minutes of the game. Okay, Easton lost in a tight finish, but they came home with the Eastern Maine Championship, after 36 years.
Well done Easton Bears, whether you realize it or not, you made local history!
