Youth turkey hunting seminars are being offered at Caribou High School on March 10, 2016 from 6-9 p.m. or March 12, 2016 from 9 a.m.-noon.
Instructor Steve Stubbs, a Caribou native now residing in southern Maine, will teach turkey hunting strategies including scouting, decoy use and setup, calls and calling, shot types and patterns, turkey biology, characteristics, firearms and firearms safety.
Youth will have a chance to meet a Maine game warden and learn about turkey hunting laws and hunting ethics.
A turkey calling contest will be held, with the top three earning prizes. Door prizes will also be offered.
