Hockey players earn awards

    PRESQUE ISLE, Maine — Three Presque Isle Wildcat hockey players have earned post-season honors.
Senior forward Cooper Madore and senior goalkeeper Jillian Flynn were both named to the Class B North third team, while junior forward Denny Young earned honorable mention.
Madore finished the season with a team-leading 12 goals and also had four assists. Flynn recorded a 3.78 goals against average and a 90 percent save rate, while Young had nine goals and a team-best nine assists.
Flynn was also named to the league’s all-academic team.
The Wildcats, coached by Carl Flynn, finished 5-13 and in eighth place in the 10-team league. They did not qualify for this year’s playoffs.
