On Thursday, March 17, the group will make the annual excursion for a maple syrup breakfast in Florenceville, New Brunswick.
This year, the group will be returning to Sugar Moon Cookhouse. It will include an all-you-can-eat breakfast (for lunch) including pancakes, eggs, bacon, sausage, baked beans, coffee, juice and tea. The cost of $12.50 includes the meal and taxes.
You must have either your passport/passport card or a driver’s license and a birth certificate to cross the border. Departure from the Manor is at 9:45 a.m.
On Thursday, March 31, it’s another annual event to visit Maple Moose and have lunch at Boondocks in Fort Fairfield. The Kings always treat us as royalty and have a sweet treat for us. Participants are responsible for their own lunch. Departure from the Manor is at 11 a.m.
Kindergarten/Pre-K registration for 2016-17 school year begins
Easton School Department is now accepting registration for children entering kindergarten or Pre-K in the fall of 2016. All children residing within the Easton school district who are 5 years old (on or before Oct. 15, 2016) are eligible for enrollment in the kindergarten class. All children residing within the Easton school district who are 4 years old (on or before Oct. 15, 2016) are eligible for the Pre-K class.
Please call the Easton Elementary School at 488-7700 as soon as possible to register your child for either of the above classes. The classroom teacher will notify parents/guardians when an informational meeting for parents is scheduled. The following documents are required by the state: proof of immunizations, birth certificate (hospital copies are not acceptable), and proof of residency (rental agreement, utility bill, etc). These documents must be presented prior to the child beginning school.
Sesquicentennial Items for sale at town office
As a year of celebrating Easton’s year-long 150th birthday concludes, there are still a few items available, including Easton History Books for only $10, 20-ounce glasses with Bears and Sesquicentennial logos for $8, glass coffee mugs with Bears and Sesquicentennial logos and royal blue T-shirts with sesquicentennial logos for $8, royal blue hoodie sweatshirts with sesquicentennial logos for $25, blue sweatshirts with sesquicentennial logos for $20 and two-tone caps or standard caps with Easton Bears logos or Sesquicentennial logos for a price of $10.

Kiwanis meetings
Kiwanis Club of Easton meets on the first and third Tuesday of each month from 6-7 p.m. at the Odd Fellows Hall and everyone is welcome to attend. Dinner provided for a small fee.
