On perhaps the coldest day of the season to date, 10 brave members of the Island Falls Senior Citizens met at the municipal building for our scheduled meeting on March 3. We dined on a nice assortment of casseroles, salads and dessert.
After the lunch, entertainment was provided by Rich.
Our business meeting was opened with the Lord’s Prayer and flag salute. We discussed a communication from the Aroostook Agency on Aging, which included the latest information on phone scams and retirement of longtime employee, Brenda Barker. We discussed the need to have a representative from the agency speak to us in regards to programs for seniors. At the conclusion of the meeting, we played the “Bag Game.”
Members present were; Jeanne Clements, Ellie Peck, Dennis Boone, Mary Pipes, Edith Dwyer, Louise Butcher, Rich Camire, Darlene Hartin, Darrell Hartin and Terry Dwyer.
Our next meeting, formerly scheduled for March 17, is canceled due to pre-town meeting voting. The next scheduled meeting will occur on April 7.
