HOULTON, Maine — The Aroostook County Action Program, Inc. recognized two of its outgoing board members at its Houlton Center on Thursday, March 3.

“It is an honor to thank these two outstanding individuals,” shares Jason Parent, ACAP executive director. “Their expertise and input regarding the thousands of children, families and seniors we serve each day has been important to the decisions that are made by the ACAP Board of Directors.”

Kalie Bovier of Littleton is a former Early Head Start Parent and served on the Parent Committee and Head Start Policy Council. Her contributions to Head Start led to her involvement on the ACAP Board of Directors. As a mother of three, it is exciting to see Kalie use her skills and knowledge as a parent and Head Start advocate to advance her career in Early Childhood Education, Parent said.

Captain Dan Pelletier of Houlton has been a valuable resource to ACAP with projects and initiatives in the Houlton area. His perspective as it relates to law enforcement and strong advocacy for all people who seek ACAP services, and in particular children and youth, has been appreciated by all ACAP Board of Directors, Parent said.

For 44 years, ACAP has provided the people of Aroostook County with services and resources that help individuals and families achieve greater economic independence.

As a leader, or in partnership with others, ACAP provides guidance to the community in responding to emerging human needs in the areas of community, family, energy and housing, and workforce development services.
