FORT KENT, Maine — Dr. Tanya Sleeper, interim vice president for academic affairs at the University of Maine at Fort Kent, has announced that 270 full-time and 188 part-time students were named to the dean’s list for the fall 2015 semester.
“The dean’s list is a great opportunity to recognize the academic achievement of our students and to attest to their hard work and commitment to their pursuit of higher education. Additionally, the dean’s list is not only a reflection of the caliber of our students but the quality and rigor of academic programs offered at UMFK,” Sleeper said.
Students attaining the honor must be degree candidates, enrolled as a full-time student or a part-time student, and must maintain a 3.2 grade point average on a 4.0 scale for the semester with no grades below a “C.”
Full-time students from the local area on the dean’s list include the following:
From Houlton, Emily Fitzpatrick.
From Island Falls, Jiaying Lu.
From Patten, Lucas Anderson.
And from Sherman, Jillian Miller and Cole Porter.
Named to the dean’s list as part-time students were:
Island Falls, Christina Schmidt.
From Littleton, Destiny Prosser.
From Monticello, Elizabeth Sewell.
And from Smyrna Mills, Shellie Williams.
