Belden has more than 11 years of wireless/sales experience.
“Tim’s passion and leadership throughout his U.S. Cellular journey is inspiring and motivating, and I am excited to have him guide our Presque Isle team,” said Matt Kasper, director of sales for U.S. Cellular in New England.
Belden joined U.S. Cellular as a cashier/greeter in 2005 before becoming a full-time retail wireless consultant. In 2014, he was promoted to sales manager at the Presque Isle retail location. He graduated from the University of Vermont with a bachelor’s degree in history and a minor in biology.
He resides in Presque Isle with his wife, Nicki, and son, Denny, 17.
The carrier has also announced further network improvements with the addition of 4G LTE to an existing site in Washburn. The site will bring 4G LTE speeds providing an enhanced wireless experience in the towns of Washburn, Wade, Woodland, Mapleton, Castle Hill, and Perham.
U.S. Cellular has more than 400 sites across the state.
“At U.S. Cellular, we focus on providing the best wireless experience for our customers in Aroostook County through a high-quality network with national coverage along with the latest 4G LTE devices,” said Kasper. “We care about our local communities, and we will continue to invest in our network so your phone works whether you are in your backyard or across the country.”
4G LTE speeds provide an enhanced wireless experience with fast web browsing, smooth video streaming, video chatting and high-speed downloads. Consumer uses include smartphones, tablets, hotspots, vehicle monitoring and home phone solutions.
To select locations for new cell sites, U.S. Cellular has teams of system performance engineers who drive through the company’s network coverage area, sometimes hundreds of miles a day, to test the signal strength and call quality. The company also listens to customer feedback to help identify the communities that would benefit from another cell site.
