Happy Losers

On March 23, 2016, the weight group called The Happy Losers held their weekly meeting. Jackie Pratt, the leader, opened the meeting and welcomed members, followed by the pledge and roll call.

Nine members weighed- in and seven attended the Class. Shirley Sides lost the most weight for the week, and runner-up was Jackie Pratt. Great job, ladies. Reports for the week were given by the secretary and treasurer.

Joan Sides led the program for the week on nuts. A quiz was taken with 10 questions. She explained what nuts are good for you, such as chestnuts, which improve your memory; cashews, which are cancer protection; hazelnuts, which help your heart; walnuts, which are packed with omega fatty acids. Pecans, almonds, Brazil nuts, pistachios, macadamia, and coconuts are some of the nuts we should be eating daily.

All are welcome to the group, which meets every Wednesday at the United Baptist Church vestry in Island Falls, with weigh-ins from 8-8:30 a.m. The meeting usually starts at 8:30. Spring is here, so it is a nice time to lose weight.
