HODGDON — Floyd V. Oliver 86, passed away March 25, 2016 at his residence. He was born March 30, 1929 in Cary Plantation, the son of Merle and Hazel (Putnam) Oliver.
Floyd grew up in Cary and Hodgdon and attended local schools. Floyd went to work farming and cutting wood at an early age and continued to work hard his whole life. He loved fishing in Mill Stream, catching perch in Spednic Lake and he also loved to hunt deer. He loved doing the Bangor Daily News crossword puzzle and had it solved by 6 a.m. Floyd will be remembered as an honest man with much integrity.
Floyd is survived by two brothers Maurice Oliver with whom Floyd worked and lived with for many years of Hodgdon, Dana Oliver of Caribou; an adopted son Roger Wilson and his friend Barb Reid of Hodgdon; as well as several cousins. In addition to his parents, he was predeceased by his brother Harold and three sisters Ruth, Dorothy and Marjorie. The family would like to thank Hospice of Aroostook for the loving care of Floyd during his illness.
