You all may recall a mama cat that we took in named Smokey who had six babies that she was not able to nurse. The volunteers at the Ark quickly stepped in and became a surrogate mom to these little guys. We thought you might like to know where they are now. Well mama is healthy and spayed and has been adopted to a wonderful home in the southern Maine.
After many late night and early morning feedings and a few touch and go moments the remaining babies are all doing well. Little Ralphie and Ruby have both been adopted by their foster moms. Rollee and Reina were adopted to the southern part of the state. Little Rita as you may recall did not survive. We hold her near and dear to hearts and she will never be forgotten.
That leaves Rose. Rose is still waiting for that perfect home and is still up for adoption. She is the sweetest little ball of fluff you will ever meet. She is also one of the most mischievous kittens you will ever meet. She loves to hold your face in her paws and when you least expect it give you a little love bite. She is full of so much life despite her difficult start. She loves everyone and everything.
She is a true kitten in all sense of the word. She is not afraid of anything and thinks that life revolves around food. She eats four small cans of food a day. She will make you smile for hours on end with her cute little antics. Give her a toy and she is entertained for quite sometime. There is no stopping Rose when she gets running. She wants to explore everything. Rose is still very tiny at three months old. She could easily fit in your pocket, but she is healthy and has the fat little round belly to prove it.
Rose is waiting for her special “furever” human to come and adopt her. Are you that person? Do have room in your heart and your home for little Rose? If so please contact Lorraine at The Hollywood Pet Salon 532-7387.
The sheet rock will be going up on the interior walls of the new sanctuary, most of the interior doors have been purchased and will soon go up. The mudding will soon begin and we are looking for people with mudding experience to volunteer some time to help us. It is crunch time there is still quite a bit to be done and the finances are getting low. We are counting every penny and trying to make the money stretch.
If you would like to help please contact Lorraine at 532-7387. If you would like to donate some paint for the interior, we are looking for white ceiling paint and sheetrock primer. If you would like to purchase paint for the interior walls please stop by the salon as we have our colors picked out and have the color samples available there.
Please join us for a bake sale outside the Hollywood pet Salon on Sat, April 2, from 9 a.m. to 2 p.m. Thank you for your continued support and as always thank you for reading our column.
