The Maine State Police Troop F barracks in Houlton investigated the following complaints from Tuesday, March 22 to Sunday, March 27.
Tuesday, March 22
Cpl. Quint conducted a motor vehicle stop in Hodgdon and when he approached the driver’s window he could smell the odor of marijuana coming from inside of the vehicle. The 16-year-old operator produced a useable amount of marijuana. Cpl. Quint issued a summons for possession of marijuana.
Troopers Saucier and Sucy conducted a bail check on a 19-year-old Patten man. The man’s residence smelled strongly of marijuana and he admitted to recently smoking marijuana, but refused to provide a urine sample. The man was arrested and transported to the Penobscot County Jail where he again refused to submit to a drug test.
Thursday, March 24
Tr. Levesque responded to a residence in Stockholm for a family fight. The Houlton RCC received a call from a woman saying that she needed a trooper to tell her husband to stop teasing and picking on her. Tr. Levesque arrived and spoke with both parties. The husband said that when his wife gets like this he goes into another room and watches television. There was no crime committed.
As part of the PACE practical for the 67th RTT in Waterville and Portland, Tr. Darcy charged two people with operating after suspension, one of which was also arrested on a warrant and transported to the York County Jail. Tr. Darcy also seized marijuana and other drug paraphernalia on three separate traffic stops.
Tr. Bell investigated a family fight in Island Falls. Evidence suggested a heated argument between a couple who were in each other’s face, and neither was willing to cooperate.
Saturday, March 26
Tr. Casavant was called out when an off duty Ashland Officer reported coming across a vehicle broken down in Mapleton. One occupant was believed to have illegal prescription pills and another was on bail and intoxicated. The pills were identified as caffeine pills and the man on bail was found not to be under the influence.
Sunday, March 27
Cpl. Michaud charged a Woodland woman with operating after suspension. The citation came after Cpl. Michaud investigated a car deer crash the woman had been involved in.
