SMYRNA MILLS — Rita J. Burpee, 93, passed on to heaven peacefully March 28, 2016, in Houlton. She was born August 21, 1922 in Smyrna, the daughter of Roy and Ella (Cassidy) Bragdon. Rita was happiest doing for others. She loved everyone.
She is survived by two daughters, Perlene Lane and Darlene Nelson; four sons, Perry and Virginia Burpee, Dennis and Virgie Burpee, Rick and Alison Burpee, and Perley S. and Brenda Burpee; many grandchildren, great-grandchildren; a special great-great-grandson, Brady, and a brother, Reggie Bragdon of Brownville. She was predeceased by her parents; her husband, Perley; two brothers, Ray Bragdon Jr. and Paul Bragdon both of Brownville; two sisters, Mildred White of Oakfield and Josephine Russell of Brownville.
The family would like to thank Dr. Abouleish and the staff at Madigan Estates Nursing Home for the loving care that they gave Mom.
