HOULTON, Maine — Tom Zimmerman, head of school for Greater Houlton Christian Academy, announced Monday that Michael Matheson has accepted the position of athletic director for the school.

“Mr. Matheson is an active Little League coach and director and also involved in local hockey programs,” explained Zimmerman. “He believes strongly in beginning an athletic program in the early grades and is excited to be a part of the Academy staff.”

Matheson takes over the reins from Barrett Potter, who served as GHCA’s athletic director for the past eight years.

“Mr. Potter has done an amazing job, and we appreciate his dedication to the program,” Zimmerman said. “We look forward with great anticipation to all God has in store for athletics at GHCA and the development of the program in the years to come.”
