FORT KENT — Sarah Ashley of Sash Engineering has recently been licensed by the State of Maine Department of Health and Human Services Center for Disease Control as a site evaluator.

As a licensed site evaluator, Ashley will provide wastewater septic design for new construction and replacement systems for residential and small-scale commercial facilities.

Septic design requires the knowledge of soils, engineering/plumbing design, and the accepted septic design code. Ashley completed course work, mentored under a licensed site evaluator, and successfully completed written and field examinations.

She founded Sash Engineering in 2014. In addition to site evaluation, she also provides geotechnical engineering and construction inspection services throughout the state. These services include planning and conducting subsurface investigations, bearing capacity assessments, providing parameters for foundation design, earthwork recommendations, frost considerations, pavement evaluation and design, subgrade observations, and construction oversight.

Ashley is a Maine licensed professional engineer and has over 15 years’ experience working in the construction and civil engineering industry on a wide variety of projects including infrastructure (highway, rail and airports), industrial upgrades, commercial and healthcare buildings, wastewater treatment facilities, and utilities (substations, cell towers, and wind farms).

She lives in Fort Kent with her husband, Jared, and their children, Piper and Peter.
