Trash to Fashion

PRESQUE ISLE, Maine — The University of Maine at Presque Isle’s Studio 923 Art Club will host its first Trash to Fashion Show on Earth Day, Friday, April 22, 2016 at 7 p.m. at Wieden Auditorium.

The event will feature fashion design by students and community members in a runway show. All creations are made exclusively from recycled materials. Studio 923 is hosting this unique fashion show in order to raise awareness about the importance of recycling.

Spring concert

PRESQUE ISLE, Maine — The University of Maine at Presque Isle/Community Band spring concert will be held on Monday, April 25, 2016 at 7 p.m. in Wieden Auditorium.

Conductor Jon Simonoff will lead the group in a variety of music, including classic band literature, settings of choral music, marches and contemporary works.

The band is composed of local and traveling musicians from middle school age to retired music teachers.

This event is free and open to the public. The snow date is Monday, May 2, same time and place.
