One day my Dad and I went down to our bear bait with my 7mm rifle and my camo.

When my Dad and I got to the bait we went and sat in the camo blind. We sat there for a long time and it was getting dark. Then my Dad told me the bear was there. So, he put the rifle on the wooden shooting rail.

Then I looked down the sights on the gun and aimed at the bear and POW! It dropped onto the ground, then got up and ran off into the woods.

Then my Dad told me to go to the house and get a flashlight and ride the 4 wheeler back here. So I started off to the house. On the walk, I was worried the bear was gonna come up behind me. When I got to the house, I was relieved and went to get a flashlight.

When I went in, I told my Mother that I shot a bear and she said “No way” and I was like “Yes I did.” I told her that I needed a flashlight and she gave me one. Then I drove off on the 4-wheeler.

When I got down to the bear bait, we started to follow the blood trail. Not too far ahead we heard the bear crash into a tree. We started to run ahead. After a while we heard coyotes howling and the bear was 50 feet ahead in the thick brush, so we called some friends to help.

We started to go back to the house. When my Dad and his friends started to track the bear, I decided to stay home and go to sleep. At 11 p.m I woke up. They had the bear in the garage and we took some pictures. After pictures, we went inside. I was so happy that I shot a bear.
