Fisherman’s breakfast planned in Mars Hill

The Mars Hill American Legion William Cousins Post 118 will hold a Fisherman’s Breakfast on Saturday, April 16, 2016 beginning at 6 a.m. Cost is by donation.
School registration
MSAD 42 will be having registration for the pre-kindergarten and kindergarten programs for the 2016-2017 school year. The registration will be held on Friday, April 15 at the Fort Street School and is open to 4- and 5-year-old children of the Mars Hill, Blaine and Bridgewater area.
Pre-school students must be four years of age on or before October 15, 2016. Students who will be five years of age on or before October 15, 2016 are eligible for kindergarten. Please contact Fort Street School at 429-8514 or 429-8515 to schedule an appointment to register your child.
The state requires proof of Immunizations and a birth certificate (hospital copies are not acceptable. A copy must be obtained from the municipal office of the town or city where you were living when the child was born.) MSAD 42 requires these documents at the time of registration.
If you are not a legal parent, a copy of guardianship papers (probate court) must be completed before registration.
Those students currently enrolled in the 4-year-old program do not need to register. If you have any questions, please call the school for further details.

Upcoming events for the week of April 13-19 include: Wednesday will feature Beauty Parlor at 8:30 a.m., Wii Bowling at 9 a.m., Crossword Puzzles at 9:30 a.m., iPad fun at 1:30 p.m. and Sip and Paint at 6 p.m. Thursday will feature Beauty Parlor at 8:30 a.m., Bingo at 9:30 a.m., Horse Racing at 1:30 p.m. and Old Fashioned Revival Center at 3 p.m.
Friday will feature Pokeno at 9:30 a.m. and Karaoke with Larry and Larry at 1:30 p.m. Saturday will feature Karaoke with The Deschesnes at 1:30 p.m. Sunday will be a free day with televised church in the day room.
Monday will feature Communion with Rev. Kierstead at 1:30 p.m. Tuesday will feature the Beauty Parlor at 8:30 a.m., Bingo at 9:30 a.m., and Card Games at 1:30 p.m.

Rotary Club
The Mars Hill Rotary Club met April 5. at the Aroostook Health Center. Rotarian Steve Hitchcock showed a slide presentation of present and past businesses in Mars Hill and Blaine. He had Rotarians break up into smaller groups to discuss what we see the area looking like in 25 years.
Bingo
The William Cousins Post 118 of Mars Hill is hosting Bingo on Saturday evening beginning at 7 p.m. at the Post. There are cash prizes. Refreshments are available. Come on out and enjoy a fun evening with friends!
