Unfortunate Events

I always thought of myself as an animal person, well clearly I thought wrong. My story begins when I was three.
I was at my Nana’s house playing in her lawn, when all of a sudden the neighbor’s dog came running towards me. The neighbors were not neighbors you would want to have supper with, they were neighbors that you might want to have a restraining order against. So their dog was running towards me at a speed that should scare me, but as a three year old I did not know this fear. As it was running towards me I yell “PUPPY!” That dog was no puppy and when it got to me it opened its big jaw and held my head in its mouth. My head was so little that its top teeth were on my forehead and its bottom were at my chin. I remember my mother was trying to rip this deranged dog off of me.
My second incident was when I was in kindergarten. I just came home from the store with my mom and was helping with the groceries. Before we could get them all in I spotted a mouse. Of course little old me thought that mice could be friends, I blame it on Cinderella. I yell to my mom, “Look mom I found a mouse!” She did warned me not to but as a kindergartener I thought I could make it my pet. When I tried to pick it up it latched its teeth on my pointer finger. That is when the screaming started. I was flinging my hand around telling my mom to get it off. After five minutes of this it finally let go and scurried off. I had to get my finger checked out after this and I’m pretty sure my mom was laughing at me.
My third incident was when our family went to Bar Harbor on a trip. We were at Sandy Beach enjoying the sun and some sandwiches when out of the blue a seagull swooped down and ripped the sandwich from my hand. I wanted to cry because that sandwich was my lunch. I was a very unhappy camper!
The fourth animal incident that happened to me was when I was in fourth grade and mom brought Isabelle and I to the playground. While we were playing I spotted a BIG moth. This was the most amazing thing that I ever saw. I was leaning toward it in admiration when all of a sudden the moth jumped on to my right foot. “AHHHHHHH!” is all my mother and sister heard, I was like a girl having a seizure on the playground. “Mom, get it off!” If only my mother could but I was kicking my feet so much that she couldn’t. The moth finally fell off and never moved again. I think I scared him to death.
My fifth experience was with my mom and sister. I was in fifth grade and mom decided for us to go on a kayaking trip. I was happy to go, it was a beautiful day. If only I knew what God had in store for me, I would have never gone. We are drifting down the currents when all of a sudden I lose control and run into a fallen branch, no big deal I’ll just put my hand on the tree and move myself away. Well while maneuvering myself away, some spiders decide to crawl across my hand. “AHHH!” I was past the point of no return, I thought that the spiders were falling into my boat so I stood up and jumped over board. That was the end of that kayaking trip.
My sixth and final incident was when my best friend bought two horses. I would go over to her house and ride the horses. One time while I was riding the horse, it decided not to listen to me. The horse walked behind a tractor and twisted my leg in between it and the horse. I was very frightened and yelled for help. What I didn’t know was that when I yelled I scared the horse. That horse went berzerk! He raced out of the way and flung me to the ground, knocking the wind out of me. I was desperate for air and my leg hurt. My best friend’s dad races for me with concern written all over his face. I now dislike horses and I had a big bruise on my leg.
Now all these stories do mean something. They are the reason why I, Cecilia Morin, am a cat person.
