Why I Go Snowmobiling in the County

There are ups and downs with snowmobiling in Easton, Maine. It was not a good winter for sledding. The sled I have is a 1994 Ski Doo Touring 380 and my sled needs a little bit of snow because if the sled doesn’t have enough snow to ride on it will overheat.
The first part of winter started with very little snow. Thankfully, a few weeks later we had quite a bit of snow. There were a lot of people out on the trails. I have a few friends with whom I usually ride. We all ride to school in the morning then after school head down to my house, which is only a couple houses down from the school, to see if anyone needs anything before we head to the gas station. I usually take the back of the group because I go a lot slower than everyone else does.
Once we arrive at the gas station we see who needs to stop and get gas. While those who need gas fill up, the rest of us go inside to get something to eat while the people who needed gas also go get their bite to eat and pay for their gas. Then we all go out to the warming hut to eat. Afterwards we go for a ride around Easton.
Due to the lack of snow this winter I haven’t been able to ride my sled very often. Every once in awhile we get a little bit of snow and I can go for a ride around the school yard and the back fields behind my house. I’m also able to take my little brother. I pull him around slowly with my sled. He has a little saucer sled and he holds onto a rope. Sometimes I have to stop to remind him to not fool around or stop. I enjoy this time with my brother and we have made a few movies of our rides.
Most of my friends have a snowmobile and having a snowmobile makes it easier for me to hang out with my friends and visit my family. This is a fun way to connect with them.
