CARIBOU — Emily M. Lloyd, 89, wife of the late Kenneth V. Lloyd, passed away April 14, 2016 in Panama City, Florida. She was born in Caribou, February 19, 1927, the daughter of the late Glenwood and Elenor (McPhee) Doody.
Emily was a loving wife, mother and grandmother. Mrs. Lloyd was a longtime active member of the Caribou United Baptist Church. She was concerned with veteran’s affairs and was a member of the VFW Ladies Auxiliary and the American Legion Auxiliary. Emily was known for her love of cooking. She was an avid bowler and loved to dance. She spent many hours entertaining children and adults alike as Mrs. Claus in the Caribou community and also volunteered countless hours at the Caribou Veterans Center and at Cary Medical Center.
Emily is survived by three daughters, Carolyn and husband, Tom Riley of Callaway, FL, Lois Lloyd of Anchorage, AK, Cynthia Lloyd of Parker, FL, and one son, John Lloyd and wife, Connie of Eutawville, SC. She is also survived by four sisters, Josephine of Woodland, Geraldine of Hamilton, OH, Bertha of Dawson-ville, GA, and Katherine of Caribou, two brothers, Vaughn of Las Vegas, NV, and Dale of Windsor, CT, six grandchildren, seventeen great-grandchildren, and eight great-great-grandchildren. Mrs. Lloyd was predeceased by her husband in 1989, three brothers, Glenwood, Richard and Elwin, a sister, Ethel, and a great-granddaughter, Marissa.
Friends may call at the Mockler Funeral Home, 24 Reservoir Street, Caribou on Wednesday May 4, 2016 from 11:00 a.m. until time of services which will be held at 1:00 p.m. from the chapel of the funeral home with Pastor Troy Heald officiating. Interment will be in the Evergreen Cemetery, Caribou.
